Homemade Dino Fossils
I’ve been seeing alot of science going on around the web and it makes me so happy. I’m not exactly scientifically inclined, so I love finding ideas that that others have done that I can try out with my own kids. Recently, Roots and Wings Co. shared some fossil-making fun that they had at a birthday party. I can certainly see why this would be hit with kids of all ages. Check out the site for a very nice explanation of how to make your own dinosaur fossils.

For The Boys
Having two small girls of my own, I’m always worried that the boys get neglected around here. Here’s a quick round-up of some things you can make for the young gents in your life.
Check out the Purl Bee’s tutorial on how to make a little boy’s tie. So cute!
Little Birdies Nest shares a very sweet “away/asleep” Matryoshka doll she made using fabric from a man’s shirt.

Here’s another way to use men’s shirts. Inchmark is using her husband’s old shirts to make a quilt for her little boy. I love this blend of stripes, checks, and solids. Can’t wait to see the finished project!

Best Pajama Pants Tutorial..Ever
Ok…so crazy skull print aside…this tutorial at Instructables is awesome. I know very little about sewing and I cranked out about 10 pair of pants around Christmas using these instructions. Please note, that if you’re making these for small children they should not be considered sleepwear, but “lounge pants” for safety reasons. Happy sewing! Link
How to Make a Rubberband Gun
I’m always afraid that I’ll post too many projects for toddlers, or girls specifically…since that’s what I’m naturally drawn to…having two small girls of my own. So, I was elated when I came across this rubberband gun tutorial on Blue Yonder. This seems like such a fun afternoon project for a parent to do with an older child. Have fun, but don’t forget to give a thorough lesson on safety before letting your kid loose with one of these things. ;) Link
