All of these remakes of men’s shirts are just so inspiring! Most recently, Shannon from luvinthemommyhood created this dress and I absolutely love it. Love the colors, love the breezy look about it, love the flower…love everything about it! It’s also encouraging to know that a beginning sewer created it since I’m still a newbie myself. Shannon doesn’t have a tutorial up yet, but she’s working on one so keep an eye out on her blog!

I love the simplicity of this alphabet mini-quilt. It’s about the size of a sheet of paper and would be lovely in a nursery or child’s playroom, or perhaps hanging above a preschooler’s writing station. Orange Flower Patterns and Tutorials shares a how-to and includes the embroidery pattern for the letters. If you need help with the binding, check out this tutorial from Crazy Mom Quilts.

OCP reader MaxxSilly pointed me to a recent redo that she did of her husband’s childhood rocker.

What a fantastic update of a cherished childhood relic. This is also a great reminder to look around at what we already have before running out to the store.

Well done, MaxxSilly!

Knitted Bunny Mobile…Seriously

January 29, 2009

shescraftyknittedbunnymobile

Sometimes…I come across something…and the cuteness…is just…so…overwhelming. These bunnies are killing me!

This knitted bunny mobile is the brainchild of Hadley Fierlinger, who has a knitting pattern book coming out in the Fall of 2009. The pattern for this mobile will be included along with many other patterns for baby knits. The book will be called Vintage Knits for Modern Babies. Perfect. If you can’t wait for the book to come out, she has some pattern booklets available for download here.
