Handmade Shopping List (6)

May 30, 2009

I’m way behind on my handmade shopping lists, but I didn’t want to let this one pass me by.

madejoonbug

Dana, from Made (you remember the shirt dress, don’t you?) has just reopened her shop where she sells a variety of hand-sewn baby gear and accessories. You must pop over and take a look! Her designs are fun, simple and downright GOR-geous!

Doesn’t this receiving blanket look so deliciously soft and luxurious? I think I’d like to curl up in it right alongside my baby! Plus, these blankets have stretch which makes them perfect for a nice, tight swaddle!

joonbugbabychocolateblanket

I also adore her hair clips. They’re so sweet and perfectly girly!

And she hasn’t left out the boys! Check out this cool camo pacifier clip!

Also, be sure to stop by her blog before midnight on Sunday for your chance to win one of these two lovely blankets:

Go on and give her some love now, and help her empty out that shop that she just filled!

Pirate Doll Giveaway at Fröken Skicklig

May 21, 2009

frokenskickligpiratedoll

I’m off to the beach to soak it up visit relatives for a few days, but wanted to tell you about this wonderful giveaway first:

Fröken Skicklig is a one-woman company located in Berlin who creates the most beautiful handmade dolls. Seriously. Go look…they’re gorgeous. She’s currently offering a giveaway on her blog for the little pirate fellow above. And, get this: To enter, you have write a message in a bottle with your kids and send it off somewhere. I love it!

I really like this guy, so we may have to find a good bottle while we’re visiting the ocean. Although, I confess I’m a little apprehensive about tossing a plastic bottle into the ocean. I’d probably get cited for littering, or end up injuring some poor sea animal. Perhaps we’ll just leave it someplace where someone will surely find it and subsequently dispose of the bottle. Either way, the prospect of sending a note to an unknown person, along with an opportunity to win the Pirate, is very appealing. :)

Be sure to check out Fröken Skicklig if you’re interested in joining me. Have a great weekend, and I’ll be back Tuesday!

Giveaway Reminder

May 7, 2009

I’ve been kicked out of the house today for some work to be done so I don’t have any goodies to post. But, I did want to pop in for a sec to remind you that today’s the last day to enter the Crobots Book Giveaway! I’ll post the winner tomorrow along with a little something for everybody else. Click here to enter!

P.S. I know things have been a little wonky on the blog this week. I added the LinkWithin widget and I think it’s causing some problems. I’ve contacted the folks at LinkWithin and if it’s not fixed by the weekend then I’ll remove it and find an alternative. In the meantime, just scroll on down and you’ll find the rest of the posts. See you soon!

Sew Darn Cute Giveaway Winner…and Some Rambling

April 19, 2009

Congratulations to Karla who said:

Thanks for the generous giveaway! Looks like a great book! My absolute fave tutorial is the fabric beach ball by purl bee… it’s a great stash buster and everytime I have scraps laying around, I always cut them up for future fabric balls. Really fun to mix and match fabrics for this project. :)http://www.purlbee.com/fabric-beach-balls/
April 16th, 2009 at 6:25 am Edit

And thank you so much to all of you who shared your favorite tutorials. It was so much fun reading everybody’s comments. Some of my favorites were included and there were some that were new to me…which is awesome! I’ll be sharing some of the links that were mentioned throughout the week this week.

In other news…

My computer has been giving me trouble lately, and I’m a bit behind on my own making, so I’ll be in and out this week…possibly more out than in as I get caught up and give my hardware a bit of a tune-up. But, I’ll be back in full swing next week and hope to make up for my spotty posting with another giveaway!

Thanks again to everybody for commenting, emailing, and sending me your submissions! I love sharing this little collection of mine, but your participation really makes this ol’ blog so much more fun than if you weren’t around!

See you soon!

Our First Giveaway!!!

March 1, 2009

Ok, folks…We’ve reached our 100th post and it’s time for a little giveaway! We’re still in our humble beginnings, sponsoring our own giveaways and all, so we’re keeping it low-key with a book. But, if you’re looking to be inspired then you’ll definitely want to get in on this giveaway.

stitchedintime

I love this book by Alicia Paulson (from Posie Gets Cozy). A few of my favorites from the book are the sleep-over pillow (on the back cover), the fabric growth chart, and the photo memory game (featured in this post). But truly, there are so many lovely things to make here, I can hardly keep myself from picking it up and looking at it every chance I get.

But you really just want to know how to enter, don’t you?

Here’s the deal: I love posting links to tutorials and inspiring projects, but am limited by the fact that I don’t have every single crafty blog or mommy blog on my reader. I do have an impressive amount of subscriptions, but I’m greedy…I want more! So what I want you to do is check out the Crafty List on my right sidebar and tell me who I’m missing. What blogs inspire you? Who is out there creating projects that you think should be featured here? Leave a comment and gimme some links!

Your comment is your entry into the giveaway. And if you really can’t think of any links to send me, just leave a nice little comment saying how much you love One Crafty Place. ;)

Want to earn a second entry? Link to me! Either in a post (whatever little blurb you want to put together) or on your blogroll. Just tell me in your comment that you have linked to me so I can check it out and I’ll add another entry for you.

Please only one comment per person. If you have more than one link to share, just pack ‘em all in to one comment. If you post a link to me AFTER you already commented, shoot me an email and I’ll get you counted twice.

International readers are welcome to enter. Contest ends at midnight Pacific time on Saturday, March 7. I’ll announce the winner on Sunday.

Any questions? Send emails to onecraftyplace(at)gmail(dot)com.

Good luck!

Chrissy
